The Overgrowth Study
Currently Recruiting

Overgrowth conditions are rare disorders where certain parts of the body grow more than they should. This happens because of a change in a gene called PIK3CA, which normally helps control how cells grow. In these conditions, the gene sends too many growth signals, causing extra tissue or abnormal blood vessels to form in specific areas, such as an arm, leg, or part of the body. The change isn’t inherited and only affects some cells, which is why the overgrowth is uneven rather than affecting the whole body. Over time, this extra growth can lead to pain, swelling, movement difficulties, or circulation issues, and may gradually worsen if left untreated. We are looking at a potential new oral treatment for these conditions, due to the limitations in current treatment.
Join our clinical trial
This is a first-in-human (FIH) study, meaning it is the first time the potential treatment is being tested in people. The study has been carefully designed with strict safety protocols and has been approved by an independent ethics committee. It is not known whether the study drug may cause unexpected, serious, or life-threatening side effects. While these are considered unlikely, you will be carefully monitored throughout the study and provided with prompt treatment if any such effects occur.
Before joining, you’ll receive detailed information about the study, meet with a doctor, and have the chance to ask any questions.
