Study Objective

The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and clinical pharmacology effect of a potential new treatment targeting muscle degeneration. This potential new treatment focuses on a specific enzyme crucial for cellular energy production, aiming to bolster muscle health and strength by raising NAD levels—a vital molecule for cellular energy.

The study drug is designed to activate the NAMPT enzyme, which helps boost NAD levels. NAD levels are essential for good cellular energy and function. This study drug could potentially help treat muscle degeneration disorders like Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and sarcopenia, improving muscle condition and performance.

NAD is found in every cell and is vital to energy metabolism. It also helps with DNA repair, gene expression, and stress response. However, NAD levels naturally decrease with age, leading to less energy and more cellular stress. Increasing NAD levels may help boost energy and reduce some aging symptoms.

Why participate?

This study is an opportunity to contribute to the development of a treatment that could improve the lives of those with muscle-degenerative diseases. Your participation as a healthy volunteer could be instrumental in advancing a treatment that may significantly improve the quality of life for individuals affected by these conditions.
