Dr Joe Taylor is the Medical Director, and Principal Investigator, at Nucleus’ new early phase clinical trials unit on Sydney’s North Shore. In addition to this role, he practices as a Medical Oncologist at Gosford Private Hospital and Tuggerah Lakes Private Hospital; and serves as a Conjoint Lecturer in Medicine at the University of Newcastle.
Dr Taylor began his medical career in the United Kingdom, earning a Bachelor of Science (BSc) from the University of Southampton in 2006, followed by a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Birmingham. After completing his medical training, he worked at Sandwell General Hospital before relocating to Australia in 2015, where he became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP).
Prior to joining Nucleus, Dr Taylor gained extensive experience as an investigator on hundreds of clinical trials during his time at Gosford Hospital, The Calvary Mater Hospital in Newcastle and Wyong Hospital. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and presented at national and international conferences.
He has also developed valuable insights from a sponsor’s perspective during his time working in medical affairs for GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), as well as commercial leadership experience as a National Manager at Olympus Medical Systems.
