Shelly Horton is a TV journalist, author and health advocate with more than 30 years’ experience translating complex stories for Australian and international audiences. Her career spans the ABC, Channel Seven, Fairfax Media and more than a decade as a regular contributor across Channel Nine’s television and digital platforms.

She is the bestselling author of I’m Your Peri Godmother, which blends lived experience with evidence-based medical insight to improve understanding of perimenopause and women’s health.

Shelly is also a longstanding health advocate, campaigning at Parliament House on issues including perimenopause, menopause, heavy menstrual bleeding and the minimisation of women’s pain. Her broader health advocacy has included national campaigns addressing bowel cancer, breast cancer, dense breasts, obesity and menopause, with a strong focus on improving health literacy and encouraging people to advocate for their own health.

As Nucleus Network’s inaugural Ambassador, she is committed to improving public understanding of clinical research and helping more people understand the vital role clinical trials play in advancing medicine and developing future treatments.
