This study will investigate a new drug designed to treat Autoimmune diseases. Autoimmune diseases occur when the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy cells, with more than 80 different conditions such as myasthenia gravis, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, lupus, and psoriasis. In Australia, they affect around 1 in 20 people, making them one of the most common groups of chronic illnesses. These conditions can range from manageable to severe or life-threatening, placing a significant health burden on the community.
This is the first time this investigational treatment will be given to healthy volunteers. The investigational treatment has previously been tested in other studies involving patients with cancer or various autoimmune conditions. This study will test different ways to administer the investigational treatment. The study has been carefully designed with strict safety protocols and has been approved by an independent ethics committee.
Before joining, you’ll receive detailed information about the study, meet with a doctor, and have the chance to ask any questions.
