The Pulmonary Health Study

How it works

Participating in a clinical trial at Nucleus Network

At Nucleus Network, your safety is our top priority. Every trial is designed and monitored by experienced medical professionals, with hospital-grade care at every step. If you’re considering taking part in a clinical trial, here’s what the process involves and how we protect your wellbeing throughout.

5 steps to get started

Step 1

Register your interest

Start by submitting your details online or over the phone. We’ll ask a few health and lifestyle questions to help match you with trials that suit you. Our recruitment team is trained to answer any questions you may have, honestly and clearly.

Step 2

Attend a screening appointment

If you’re eligible, we’ll invite you in for a health screening. This is a thorough check-up to make sure the study is right for you and that it’s safe for you to take part.

This visit may include:

  • A physical examination
  • Blood and urine tests
  • ECG or other health assessments

You’ll also have time to ask questions and learn exactly what the study involves before giving informed consent. Participation is always voluntary.

Step 3

Start the study

If you meet all the criteria and choose to proceed, you’ll be booked into the study. This may include:

  • Day visits as an outpatient
  • A short stay (overnight or a few days)
  • A longer stay of up to several weeks
  • Follow-up visits in-clinic or by phone

You’ll be under 24/7 medical care during any in-clinic stay, with nurses and doctors onsite at all times. Our facilities are co-located with major hospitals and fully equipped to manage any unexpected medical issues.

Step 4

Ongoing monitoring & support

Throughout the trial, your health will be closely monitored. This includes regular checks, blood tests, and feedback from our medical team. Your safety and wellbeing are our top priorities at every stage of the process.

Step 5

Follow-up & reimbursement

After your final visit, you may be invited for a post-study check-up. You’ll also receive reimbursement for your time, based on the length and type of study. This will always be explained in advance. All payment terms are transparent and discussed before you commit to participation.

Safety & oversight

Your safety is our highest priority. Here’s how we protect you at every step.

Not first-in-human

This is not a first-in-human (FIH) study, meaning it is not the first time the potential treatment is being tested in people. The study has been carefully designed with strict safety protocols and has been approved by an independent ethics committee.

Close monitoring

It is not known whether the study drug may cause unexpected, serious, or life-threatening side effects. While these are considered unlikely, you will be carefully monitored throughout the study and provided with prompt treatment if any such effects occur.

Informed consent

Before joining, you’ll receive detailed information about the study, meet with a doctor, and have the chance to ask any questions.

Ethics approval

An independent ethics committee has approved this clinical trial.

Our commitment to your safety

At Nucleus Network, safety isn’t just a protocol; it’s a commitment. From the moment you walk through our doors, you’re supported by clinical experts and systems designed to protect your health at every step.

Here’s how we make that happen:

  • Clinics located within major medical precincts
  • 24/7 onsite doctors and emergency access
  • Trials approved by independent ethics committees
  • Strict data protection and privacy protocols
  • Over 2,500 early-phase trials safely completed
