The study drug is a potential new treatment for weight loss
The study medication is a potential new treatment that is hoped to cause weight loss by mimicking the changes that happen in the intestinal microbiome as observed in people who have
undergone gastric bypass surgery. The study drug has previously been shown to be safe and well tolerated in another clinical trial.
The study medication is administered as an oral capsule.
Participants will take 2 doses per day for 42 days. On 6 days, the doses will be administered at the clinic. On all other days, participants will take the doses at home (called at-home-dosing).
The trial has been approved by an independent ethics committee and eligible participants will be reimbursed for their time.
