Participate in a clinical study of a potential treatment for medical conditions related to improper storage of fat by the body, like type 2 diabetes, fatty liver, and familiar partial lipodystrophy (FPLD).

In this study we are testing a protein designed to improve the function of fat cells. We are looking for participants with elevated triglyceride levels and insulin resistance, and excess fat around the waist. Combined, these are known as ‘metabolic syndrome’, and they are often linked to (pre)diabetes and other medical conditions like PCOS. In a previous study of this treatment, it was found to be safe and well-tolerated.

You do not need to have a medical diagnosis to participate – we will measure values like your triglyceride levels and insulin resistance as part of the screening process to determine your eligibility. If you are found to be ineligible because of your results for these values, you will be reimbursed for your time – you can learn more about our screening reimbursements here.

The trial has been approved by an independent ethics committee and eligible participants will be reimbursed for their time.
