What is the study drug for?
The study drug is a potential treatment for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Existing treatments often fail to provide relief to people with IBD. This condition can have a significant negative impact on quality of life, so it’s important that new treatments are developed.
The goal of this treatment is to inhibit a specific immune system reaction to gut microbiota (microorganisms like bacteria) that is believed to play an important role in IBD. This should hopefully provide a more effective treatment for IBD patients.
Eligibility
Biological sex Male or Female of non-childbearing potential
Age 18-64 years old
BMI 18-32 kg/m2
Medication Not taking any prescription medication (except for hormonal contraception)
Medical History No significant medical history
Smoking History Non-smokers or smoking less than 5 cigarettes/day
