The Artery Study
The study drug is a potential new treatment for atherosclerosis, which is the build-up of plaque (fats, cholesterol, and other substances) in and on the walls of the arteries. Plaque can cause arteries to narrow, which blocks the blood flow in the vessels.
Atherosclerosis is a common cause of heart attack, stroke, and cardiovascular diseases. Currently there are various treatments available, but they have significant side effects or are not very effective. That is why there is a need to develop new treatments for atherosclerosis.
Study Schedule: 1x 9 night inpatient stay & 1x 6 night inpatient stay, 3 follow-up visits.
