Purpose: to evaluate the safety and tolerability of a potential new drug for the treatment of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).

Participate in a clinical study of a potential treatment for acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).

The investigational study medication is a naturally occurring protein.

This study has 1 screening appointment, 1 inpatient stay of 6 nights/ 7 days and 2 outpatient visits.

Reimbursement for study participation will be provided for time and travel of up to $4,380.

Eligibility

Age: 18-55
BMI: 17 - 29.9 kg/m2
Medications: During the study, no medications except acetaminophen are permitted.
Contraception: You must also agree to use (2) two medically accepted birth control methods during the course of this study and for at least 3 months after receiving final study treatment.
Smoking Status: Smoking is allowed, not able to smoke while inpatient
Compensation: Up to $4,380
Weight: less than or equal to 220lbs
