The High Cholesterol Study

The purpose of this study is to trial a new potential treatment for dyslipidaemia (commonly referred to as high cholesterol).

Dyslipidaemia can contribute to the development of atherosclerosis, a build up of fatty deposits in the blood vessels which may lead to the development of cardiovascular diseases. It is also a risk factor for chronic diseases such as coronary heart disease and stroke.

The trial has been approved by an independent ethics committee and eligible participants will be reimbursed for their time.

Eligibility

Biological Sex Healthy males and females
Age 18 – 65 years old
BMI 18–35 kg/m2
Weight >50kg
Medication Stable medications for 3 + months may be permitted
Medical History Elevated cholesterol and triglyceride levels with no lipid lowering medication for 3 months are permitted. No significant medical history
Smoking History Non-smoker in last 12 months for > 50 plus years old. Non-smoker in last 30 days for ≤ 50 years old
