This study is testing a potential new anti-inflammatory treatment for inflammatory diseases.

The medication is the active form of a drug called arhalofenate which has been extensively evaluated in clinical studies (on a total of 1,132 participants) as a possible treatment for gout (a form of arthritis). It is hoped that administering the active form of this medication will result in comparable effects but at lower dose.

At this stage of testing we are seeking healthy volunteers to assess how the drug is metabolised in the body.

The trial has been approved by an independent ethics committee and participants will be reimbursed for their time.
