The purpose of this study is to test a potential treatment for atrial fibrillation, the most common type of heart arrhythmia (abnormal heart rhythm) requiring medical care. If successful, this medication could offer a more efficient treatment option than those currently available.

The medication has previously been tested with healthy participants and was found to be well-tolerated. However early testing indicates that when this medication is taken in combination with other certain types of medication, this affects how it gets metabolised (resulting in elevated levels in the blood). One such type of medication is Paroxetine, an approved treatment for depression and anxiety.

Therefore, the goal of this study is to give these two medications together to understand their interaction.

This clinical trial has been approved by an independent ethics committee and eligible participants will be reimbursed for their time.
